Del Shaw partner Ethan Cohan was a featured speaker at the 37th annual NewFest Film Festival, during its Industry + Filmmaker Day. As one of the largest LGBTQ+ film festivals in the world, NewFest spotlights LGBTQ+ stories and the filmmakers, artists, and industry leaders who bring them to life. At his roundtable workshop, “Protecting Yourself and Your Work: Legal Support for Filmmakers,” Ethan explored key legal issues that both established and emerging filmmakers, and other creatives, should consider. With documentary work comprising a large part of Ethan’s practice, he was able to offer valuable insights on topics ranging from contract negotiations to copyright protection, empowering participants with essential knowledge to protect their work.
